During the Fall of 2008 I had the pleasure of teaching a couple of Teapot Classes at the Massillon Museum in Massillon, Ohio. The classes met for three hours once a week for six weeks. The students ranged in experience levels from complete beginners to semi-professionals and teachers.
This was a challenge! But all the students did well and everyone completed at least one functional and beautiful teapot. Here are some pictures of the artists and their pots...
Mary Jane and her wonderful raspberry teapot.
Bobbi is pleased with her soft green teapot and cups.
Jacqueline admiring her lovely textured teapot.
Heather's teapot evokes a feeling of spring.
Gloria discussing her teal teapot creation.
Kristin joyfully contemplating her dainty teapots.
Donna's dynamic duo.
Judy P. analyzes her smoky green Fall teapot.
Judy L. points at details on her marbled teapot.
We often celebrate the end of a successful class with a party. A Chinese Tea party was the obvious choice in this case! And, the Massillon Museum generously displayed several of the students' teapots, too.
Heather Lowe Celebrated her 20th birthday at the Canton Museum of Art Japanese Teahouse.
